Hi folks, anyone know what software I would need to transfer a home movie on a dvd disc to an mpeg to show it on the web.
I can find dvd to mpeg rippers on the web but they dont give you an option to make the mpeg smaller in apearance size. IE I want to make a little movie to show on a website - but only want it about 2" so that it loads and plays quicker.
Hope this makes sense.

One way I have found is to film my screen on my laptop with the dvd playing with a digi camera in video mode and then that puts it perfect for me to post on the web.:bounce:

Well, I never really knew publishing home-videos on the net was legal. As it is for "personal home use only" with a "no distributing" warning.
Then again I wouldnt know how put it on the net with proper quality as the DVDs are good protected agains exactly that.
When I say home movies - I mean ones of my daughters on a camcorder to put on a website so my family can see them in USA.
I didnt mean putting Harry Potter 3 on my website !!!!

If you take a look at this post, near the bottom you'll find a couple of links to some converter software (they give you "n" free goes), one of them should be able to do the resizing for you
