Lead Tracking Form hidden value problem

I have a site where I want to do the following: Have a url link on another page with a ?(variable) act as a lead source. A hypothetical example of this is the page http://www.nst-li.com?bryan yields a page with a form where the code on it then becomes this: <input type=hidden name="lead_source" value="bryan">. This way when the user submits information, the lead source is displayed of where the person came from to submit the form.

    Does this make sense?

there are many ways to track a user:

    1. referrer object

    2. session variables

    3. a query string

    4. a form's hidden textBox

... perhaps even some other ways.

your method is too complicated. why not keep it simple?
