Local HTML file link to files

This may seem like kind of an odd request ...

I have multiple files on my PC, music and videos. I have them in various directories on my PC. I would like to create an HTML file I can have on my Desktop to link to the various files. I don't want to install any new software I just want to use what I have. I want the links to point to whatever files and open them up. In the HTML file I will create list of whatever I want and click on the link to launch whatever playlist in WinAmp and play the playlist. In the case of the videos I think it may be more complicated. I want to be able to secify what program should be used. Example I have some videos files I would want to open in Windows Media Player and other videos open in Quicktime. I'm assuming this woud take some scripting, perhaps vb scripting or something. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I really don't think so it is HTML case. All you need to make a simple HTML page with links of files. Browser gives irrelevant extension files to user with "open with" dialog.
Opening a program with a software is a windows issue it says "file association." You can chose from "Default program" option of control panel.

Also if you want to open different video file with differnt programs. Then go in the software option and select file association option.
