Need to brush up on my design skills

Hi Everyone,

Over the years I have worked on different aspects of web design but neglected my graphic design skills...

Any recommended resource where I could learn?

Something classic like colors, lines, shapes ect...

I don't know where to start!

Before I can learn to create eye candy and web 2.0 graphics I would like to learn the basics.

Any help appreciated.

Since you have a years knowledge in design learning new skills will not be a hard task. Pick minor projects and experiment with the new skills.Search in the internet and find resources that could be helpful.

I find that I am able to learn a lot by doing some tutorials. I find these by doing quick searches for things I'd be interested in making, for example, I did this tutorial awhile ago.

I find that by doing tutorials, which there are tonnes of, I am able to learn some new skills or techniques which I didn't know before, that I am able to use on my own projects later on.
