    Remove Black Border around Input in IE

    Hi

    Does anyone now a simple trick to remove the black border that appears in IE for input submit buttons. I want to use a border, but it's being hidden by the black. This is was I have, very basic so far:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Tabs</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
     input.basictab {
       background-color: #f3f3f3;
       color: #2d2b2b;
       border:#ccc 1px solid;
    }
    -->
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>

    	<input type="submit" value="General Info" class="basictab">

    </body>
    </html>

    I use this I never have any black outlines

    Hi I use this for all my buttons just use an inage as the background and set border to none the image should be 1px wide by 21px high and has no border.

    form.input.button {
    background: #CCC url(headerbg.gif) repeat-x;
    color: #333;
    border: none;
    width: 70px; height: 21px;

    But here is a work around on your button that might work please let me know
    input.basictab {
    background-color: #f3f3f3;
    color: #2d2b2b;
    border: none;

    }

    Thanks so much. This is a great alternative, but I am really trying not to use an image while keeping a border. I am using this in a horizontal menu, so spacing will be differ between tabs due to text.

    I think I am splitting hairs. I am gonna take the advice and just do it without a border. Thanks so much.

    But if anyone knows how to get rid of the IE black border while still retaining a border without restoring to an image, please post.

    Thanks!
